This centenary exhibition gathers paintings and photographs that are more than artistic expressions; they are living memories of a man who shaped a people’s destiny. Each piece captures an aspect of Ssekabaka Edward Muteesa II how he was, and how he remains alive in the life of this nation.
He sacrificed his youth to the service of a new nation, becoming the first post-independence President of Uganda — enduring hardship, persecution, and exile for the sake of a dream far greater than himself.
In this joint exhibition, eleven renowned visual artists working in wood, acrylic, oil, and mixed media weave together tales of a royal statesman whose life embodied a nation’s dream of pride, freedom, and independence.
