David Kigozi

Centennial Art Tribute

A painter and sculptor, born in 1975 in Kampala, Uganda. He graduated with a Diploma from Kyambogo University majoring in art. He has been exhibiting since 1998 and his work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Australia and Germany.

David was a participant in the East African Biennale 2005. In 2007 he was one of three major sculptors commissioned to sculpt a monument in copper in the CHOGM park titled STRIDE on the visit of Queen Elizabeth II during the CHOGM meeting in Uganda. He also created the Pillar of Peace in northern Uganda, commissioned by the Dutch Embassy, and the Samora Monument at Samore Military School.
